Its Kuala Lumpur campus opened in the 1950s and it became a separate Malaysian university in 1962. It is Malaysia's leading research university and is regularly listed among Asia's top universities. Business education is offered through its business school within the Faculty of Business and Economics.

- Compare the total cost with MBAs in India.
How to apply
Apply online to UM's postgraduate admissions with your bachelor's degree, transcripts, CV, English scores (if required) and references. Check work experience expectations and 2027-28 intake dates.

Life in Kuala Lumpur

Is this MBA right for you?
The UM MBA suits graduates and professionals who want a respected public-university MBA in Asia at a moderate cost, with options in finance, marketing or business analytics. Those with a quantitative background may find the business analytics concentration especially useful. It is a good choice if you want to work in South-East Asia or bring regional experience back to India. Check full-time availability for international students early, because many students take the programme part-time, and plan your Student Pass application with plenty of time.
Careers after an MBA in Malaysia
Malaysia has a diverse economy with strong sectors in electronics, oil and gas, finance, Islamic banking, logistics, tourism and digital services. Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley host regional offices of many multinational companies. To work in Malaysia after graduation, you need an employment pass sponsored by an employer, usually with a minimum salary set by the government. Many Indian graduates use a Malaysian MBA to grow in their current company, move into regional roles in South-East Asia or return to India. Network with alumni and attend company events during the programme.
